Linda Stirling Unmasked: The Black Whip

AGORA
: Dragged from her chariot by a mob of fanatical vigilante Christian monks, the revered astronomer was stripped naked, skinned to her bones with sharp oyster shells, stoned and burned alive as possibly the first executed witch in history. A kind of purge that was apparently big business back then.

Generation Zero Doc Counterpunch Review: Tea Party Cinema A Weak Brew

...Invoking intimidating biblical scriptures that are fused visually with looming tornadoes, rotting fruit, paper money on fire, and a man versus lion beatdown, Generation Zero and its Tea Party animals get down to business on fast forward by blaming the current economic crisis retroactively on Lucifer, Woodstock, Dems, post-hippie yuppies lighting up cigars with burning Ben Franklins, Hollywood, Black Panthers, anti-war protesters and disrespectful post-WWII youth. Which might leave the marginalized left in this country scratching their collective heads while caught between pondering these neo-McCarthyite attacks, and shock that they seem to wield such enormous power over the course of history...

Mob Rules: Tea Party's High Noon

By Sikivu Hutchinson

...Reveling in nightly PR infusions from the corporate lapdogs of American journalism, the freshly evangelized macho racist right has ensured that its charge of a socialist government expansion is now viewed as a “reasonable” critique of an overhaul that effectively concedes universal coverage to the insurance industry. Mining a deep strain of patriarchal backlash, the Tea Partiers have taken Christian fundamentalists’ language of “moral” panic and used it as a goad to a white nationalist uprising obsessed with the imagery of enslavement...

  1. ...All versions of the trailer are completely deceptive. They paint a real problem, but they fail to disclose their ridiculous agenda of pinning all the blame for the financial industry meltdown on:

"The people who were the '60s hippies. The people at Woodstock in the '60s who became the yuppies of the '80s really the barons of the 2000s and really are the leaders around the country that helped cause this."
-Dave Bossie, executive producer and the president of Citizens United Productions

Mr. Bossie has a bright future with Ringling Brothers. He's a world-class clown.

You can read more from the geniuses behind this idiocy at your favorite fascist "news" broadcast, Hannity."

  2. Dear Ms. Miller:
After reading your review of Generation Zero, I feel like we're living in parallel universes. Forget politics, ideology and "hidden agendas." This country is heading down the tubes and has been for several years, under the political leadership of both major parties. The major problem is arithmetic. Do the math. Debt is the real devil and it will destroy the country. Forget your politics, take a refresher Econ 101 course, and just maybe you'll understand the country's dilemma.

    Sincerely,
    J. Benham

    Hi J:
Nice to hear from you. If you take another look at my review, you'll see that we're on the same page regarding the problems, and I give the film credit for that. The solutions are where we differ.

  3. Dear Ms Miller.
Until I read your review I had forgotten to order a copy of the movie. Thanks for the reminder. Based on what you have printed I have to assume this movie needs to be seen by as many middle class Americans as possible. I have many friends and family with birthdays fast approaching. Tonight I will order at least 10 DVDs. I will be sure you receive credit for my order. Keep up the good work. I am sure you will be responsible for a much wider distribution of the movie.
    Best Regards,
    J. Holliman

    Hi J:
Thank you for writing. Great to hear that you're all for watching films that are at least about *something*, and are encouraging others to do so. Better than ingesting all the piles of junk food cinema out there about bimbos, extraterrestrial brainiacs, supernatural bullies, and grossout boorish buttheads.

  4. Prairie:

I appreciate you getting back to me. I did reread your review and somewhat see your point. I guess there were too many political buzz words which drew my attention away from all the points you made. I can't tell you how sick and tired I am, and I believe many others are too, of politics and politicians in this country, as well as FOX News and MSNBC. I consider what I witnessed under Henry Paulson to be the most blatant and obvious example of real life Fascism that I have seen in America in my adult lifetime and I'm almost 62. I have been bitterly disappointed in Obama. From my personal standpoint, I should have known we were in trouble with the likes of Summers and Rubin in his inner circle. While I never considered myself naive, I've become convinced that Greenspan and Bernanke make Madoff look minor league in comparison to the fraud that the world's Central Bankers and the U.S. FED have been committing for years. I don't think I'm all that atypical and if that's true, it doesn't bode well for the political class in the future. In any event, I wish you continued good luck with your career...............
