AGORA:Dragged from her chariot by a mob of fanatical vigilante Christian monks, the revered astronomer was stripped naked, skinned to her bones with sharp oyster shells, stoned and burned alive as possibly the first executed witch in history. A kind of purge that was apparently big business back then.
House Of The Sleeping Beauties: Sexually Desirable When Drugged
More aptly titled Sexually Desirable When Drugged, the movie features slumbering sex slaves in what seems like a role-over-and-play-dead necrophiliacs brothel for grumpy old men. And nothing less than a romanticized and lusty aesthetic portrayal of virgin date rape.
Comment on: House of the Sleeping Beauties What do men want?
They want to be wanted, they want to have a beautiful/attractive woman they can claim as their own even momentarily. They want the right to look at and assess every woman they see and to enjoy this experience in the presence of other men.
They want women who will look after them like their mother, their slave. They want a woman who will not yell too loudly, who will turn over in the middle of the night to accept whatever they want at that moment. They want women to make money so they don't have to carry that burden, but not too much, not more then they do. And they want their children reared well and they will help. Men make great helpers. Even in the kitchen they put dishes into dishwashers and have learned to take out the garbage even when there isn't any.
They want to be in control, to make decisions without too much unwanted contrary input from the woman. They want to be different and they want that difference to matter, always to their advantage. They want to control the woman's body to decide when and if she will have their baby and they want to control the potential birth without needing to use "protection" because it might interfere with their performance enjoyment.
They want to play ball, to watch ball being played, They want to drink beer even get high and brag about the time when......as long as the woman can hold her liquor while out in public she can join him but at home she should be high enough to roll over, play dead, be there in body and let the spirit rest comfortably elsewhere.
They want to feel like "men": they want their woman to recognize their manliness and they want all this every day, and night and they don't really want to be challenged.
And I don't blame them. if I were a man I might like the film, the House of Sleeping Beauties or all those men-only films, the one with not even one woman to give variety to what the audience sees.
I might even enjoy Sarah Palin:
Men find her funny. I don't. She is stupid, ignorant at best, just like men want their women to be. She is the "good mother" doesn't even think of abortion or women's rights over her own body. She spends thousands of dollars on clothes that don't make a difference and she is the kind of woman a young boy, a man can enjoy jerking off to because she is so attractive, so desirable in a male oriented world. The only problem is that she has a shot at being the top of the heap, the head of a country, of the world and that even for the man of today is going a little too far. But who knows. With more films like The House Sleeping beauties maybe men will be ready for that step forward where women can rule while half asleep, naked and clinging to their manliness.

There is barely a single moment in this film that doesn't amaze and astonish. Whether focusing on the joys and tragedies of family life; the battles of exploited workers for their humanity; young girls selling their locks of hair for bread.
Or the flowering of this extraordinary woman as she slowly evolves into someone in the process of figuring out herself and the world, and painfully torn between being an artist and a mother. READ DVD REVIEW HERE

GIMME SHELTER: WFCC Member's New Book On The Housing Crisis And Surviving 'Real Estate Porn.'
Women Film Critics Circle member Mary Elizabeth Williams has a new book out from Simon & Schuster, GIMME SHELTER, an incisive personal exposé on the housing crisis and surviving 'real estate porn.' Mary Elizabeth Williams is the cultural critic for Public Radio International's morning news show, The Takeaway, and a regular contributor to Salon.com. She has written for many publications including The New York Times and The New York Observer.
"Of course I want a home," writes Mary Elizabeth, "I'm American." Gimme Shelter is the first book to reveal how this primal desire, "encoded into our cultural DNA," drove our nation to extremes, from the heights of an unprecedented housing boom to the depths of an unparalleled crash.

Native American filmmaker Georgina Lightning also stars in her fact based feature film Older Than America, as a young woman haunted by the ghosts of murdered Cree Nation Catholic boarding school children. And she describes how her own father's tragic suicide, like many others suffering such centuries of physical, psychological and sexual abuse at these government organized boarding schools, inspired her film.

Green Porno: You Won't Want Isabella To Get A Room
There's an eco-friendly peep show up on the Internet, Isabella Rossellini's Green Porno. From Isabella's six foot long insect penis to her flesh colored body tights boasting graphic anatomically correct female erogenous zones, this amazing series of short films promises never a dull moment sexy shock and awe.
The radiant colors and beyond imagination fantasy costumes and sets are indescribable. In our conversation with Isabella, we wanted to know if her primary impulse in creating Green Porno was to be sexy. And if not, what then?
Rossellini and Dragonflies Make A Porno. Not exactly bestiality, but don't expect Isabella to get a room. CONTINUE READING HERE...
